Panchgram Project
The Haryana government has initiated the Panchgram project to establish five new greenfield cities along each side of the 135km Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) expressway, spanning roughly 2.5 lakh hectares across districts like Sonipat, Jhajjar,Gurugram, Rewari, Rohtak and Palwal.
These urban centres will be designed to alleviate congestion in Delhi and NCR by utilizing Singapore’s high-efficiency urban model to combine residential, commercial and industrial zones.
To support this growth, the state plans to develop 10 industrial townships (5 already approved) & expand metro networks of Delhi, Gurugram and Faridabad including a proposed 35.25km new metro corridor between Gurugram and Panchgon with 28 stations; and connecting these cities to key areas of Delhi & NCR with high-speed Namo Bharat (RRTS) rail networks by 2041.
The execution of this project would need a dedicated administrative body and substantial financial investments. The Panchgram Development Authority has already been established to oversee zoning, land acquisition, & civic execution for the expansive initiative. Moreover, MoUs worth ₹18,000/- crore with international partners have been signed to cater to future requirements to transform the region into a hub of modern urbanisation and industrial expansion.
